Kathmandu: Newly-elected Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and other people’s representatives of Kathmandu Metropolitan City took an oath of office and secrecy on Monday.

Mayor Balen Shah took the oath from the Chief Election office (District Judge) in Nepali and Nepal Bhasa languages. Mayor Shah then administered the oath to Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol who took the oath in Nepal Bhasa.

Similarly, other people’s representatives, ward chairman, and ward members took the oath from Mayor Shah.

Shah was elected as an independent candidate for the post of Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and UML candidate Dangol was elected Deputy Mayor in the recent local polls.
