Kathmandu: Police have arrested a man from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) while smuggling gold.

A man from Dhanusha who landed in Kathmandu on Thursday morning from Qatar through flight number QR-652 of Qatar Airways was arrested with half a kilogram of gold hidden in his undergarments.

Police said the gold was recovered during a security check. TIA Customs Office said that further investigation was underway.
