Rastriya Prajatantra Party announces phase-wise protest against govt’s failure to control inflation

Kathmandu: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has announced a protest against the government’s failure to control inflation and corruption.

As per the protest plan made public by the party on Thursday, it will stage phase-wise protests across the country from June 27-July 15 against inflation, corruption, and shortage of fertilizers among others.

Earlier, the party had submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba demanding to tame the inflation. RPP in a statement said the demands should be addressed.

A meeting chaired by the party’s vice-chairman Buddhiman Tamang and the coordinator of the protest mobilization committee decided to continue the agitation.

As per the protest programs, the party will hold sit-ins and corner assemblies at Agriculture Knowledge Center in all 77 districts on June 27. Similarly, the trade union affiliated with the party will stage a sit-in and corner assemblies at all 77 district administration offices on July 3 demanding fair wages for workers.

Spokesperson Mohan Shrestha said that they have decided to hold a sit-in and corner assemblies on July 8 demanding to control of corruption. The party will hold similar protests including sit-ins during the period.
