Main opposition to take to streets against rising inflation and rampant corruption

Kathmandu: The main opposition, CPN-UML, has decided to protest against rising inflation and rampant corruption.

Stating that food prices have skyrocketed after the formation of the coalition government, the main opposition, CPN-UML, is preparing to take to the streets from Monday. “The life of the general public has become extremely difficult due to the sharp increase in prices,” the main opposition said.

A meeting of the CPN-UML chaired by Shankar Pokharel, general secretary of CPN-UML, has decided to hold a public demonstration on August 1 against inflation and corruption. The party has already formed a public demonstration preparation committee under the coordination of Krishna Gopal Shrestha, a member of the party’s standing committee. 

The main opposition has urged the general public to participate in the mass demonstration.
