Nepal records 895 new Covid-19 cases and one death, positivity rate at 15 pc

Kathmandu: A total of 895 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed through 3,685 samples tested through PCR and 2,224 antigen tests in various labs across the country during the same period. The positivity rate is at 15.14 percent.

With one death reported in the last 24 hours, Nepal’s Covid-19 death tally stands at 11,968 as of Monday afternoon.

Similarly, 264 people recovered from the infection in a day, taking the recovered cases to 970,326 to date. The recovery rate stands at 98.3 percent, informed the Ministry.

Currently, there are 4,934 active cases of Covid-19 in the country. Among them, 4,792 are being treated in home isolation, 142 in institutional isolation, 36 in ICU, and five on ventilators.
