Ruling coalition decides to forge electoral alliance for parliamentary, provincial polls

Kathmandu: The ruling five-party coalition has agreed to contest the upcoming parliamentary and provincial elections by forging an electoral alliance.

A meeting of top leaders of the alliance held at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Friday decided to forge the electoral alliance, said CPN (Unified Socialist) senior leader Jhalanath Khanal.

Khanal said that a task force will be formed for seat allocation, adding that the parties have agreed to finalize the seat allocation by the second week of August.

The alliance had forged an electoral alliance in the May 13 local polls as well.
