263 new cases, two deaths recorded in the last 24 hours

Kathmandu: A total of 263 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed through 1,399 samples tested through PCR and 1,766 antigen tests in various labs across the country during the same period. The positivity rate is at 8.30 percent.

With two deaths reported in the last 24 hours, Nepal’s Covid-19 death tally stands at 11,986 as of Saturday afternoon.

Similarly, 501 people recovered from the infection in a day, taking the recovered cases to 945,307 to date. The recovery rate stands at 98.2 percent, informed the Ministry.

Currently, there are 5,434 active cases of Covid-19 in the country. Among them, 5,228 are being treated in home isolation, 206 in institutional isolation, 61 in ICU, and four on ventilators.
