Covid-19 update: Nepal reports 852 cases in the last 24 hours

Kathmandu: Nepal reported as many as 852 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed through 6,383 tests—3,876 PCR and 2,507 antigen tests–carried out in various laboratories across the country.

During the period, 328 Covid-19 patients recovered from the disease. 

The number of active cases has hit 5,462, with 3,603 in the Kathmandu Valley (2,632 in Kathmandu, 860 in Lalitpur and 111 in Bhaktapur). 


So far, the death toll from the virus has hit 11,990. Currently, 5,259 Covid-19 patients are in home-isolation and 203 in institution-isolation. 

Similarly, 59 have been admitted to intensive care units and seven are on ventilator support.
