173 new Covid-19 cases recorded in the last 24 hours

Kathmandu: A total of 173 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed through 643 samples tested through RT-PCR and 2,196 antigen tests in various labs across the country during the same period.

With no new deaths in the last 24 hours, Nepal’s Covid-19 death tally stands at 11,999 as of Saturday afternoon.

Similarly, 396 people recovered from the infection in a day, taking the recovered cases to 981,059 to date. The recovery rate stands at 98.4 percent, informed the Ministry.

Currently, there are 3,612 active cases of Covid-19 in the country. Among them, 3,432 are being treated in home isolation, 180 in institutional isolation, 43 in ICU, and one on a ventilator.
