In pics: International Conference Center inaugurated in Butwal

The conference center which is connected to the East-West Highway from Butwal is constructed in the shape of the national flag of Nepal.

Butwal: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday inaugurated the International Conference Centre constructed at Butwal Mandap in Butwal Sub-Metropolis-10, Ramnagar.

The event was also attended by Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, Minister for Urban Development, Metmani Chaudhary, former Deputy Prime Minister, and Finance Minister, Bishnu Poudel, and former Minister for Urban Development, Ramkumari Jhankri, among others.

The center was built in two phases with a cost of Rs 1.11 billion.

A contract signing was held with the contractors in 2071 BS to complete the construction of the conference center in two phases. The conference center was built in Butwal targeting the national and international meetings and assemblies in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha.

Project Chief Dharmendra Panthi said the construction of the conference center was completed in June 2021, before the extended timeline.

The conference center which is connected to the East-West Highway from Butwal is constructed in the shape of the national flag of Nepal.

The conference center has the capacity to accommodate 1,000 people.
