Gagan Thapa unanimously recommended NC’s candidate from Kathmandu-4

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has been recommended as the party’s candidate from Kathmandu constituency-4 for the upcoming polls.

A work execution committee meeting of the party’s constituency committee held on Friday unanimously picked Thapa for the House of Representatives elections slated for November 20.

Constituency committee President Shyam Krishna Sangat said the names recommended for the proportional representation category will be formally sent to the district committee today.

He said that the names of Raju Shrestha, Karma Tshering, Dhruba Thapa, Sita Dahal, Rohit Poudel, Rajaram Kapali, and Purushottam Dahal have been recommended for the proportional representation category.

Earlier, Thapa’s name was also recommended from Kaski-1. But he has already announced that he compete the elections from Kathmandu-4.

Thapa was also elected from the same constituency in the 2017 elections defeating UML leader Rajan Bhattarai by a margin of 3,418 votes.
