Kathmandu: A rape complaint has been filed against Sandeep Lamichhane, captain of Nepali national cricket team, at Gaushala Metropolitan Police Circle.
A college student has filed a rape complaint against Lamichhane on Tuesday, confirmed additional inspector general Rabindra Dhanuk, who is the chief of Metropolitian Police Office, Ranipokhari.
As per the complaint, Lammichhane raped the alleged victim on August 21, a day before Nepali national team travelled to Kenya to play T20Is and one-day series.
The girl is currently under police protection and has undergone a health check-up, confirmed police.
