5.9 Richter scale earthquake shakes Kathmandu

Kathmandu: An earthquake shook Kathmandu Valley and nearby districts on Wednesday afternoon.

The jolt was felt by Kathmandu Valley denizens at around 3:08 pm.

According to the information counter of the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, the earthquake measured 5.9 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter of the earthquake is located on the Nepal-China border, the Center said.
