Two die, five critically injured as Armed Police truck meets with accident

Kapilvastu: Two persons died and six others were injured when an Armed Police Force (APF) vehicle met with an accident at Banganga Municipality-3 in Kapilvastu district on Friday. Of the injured, five are critically injured.

The truck lost its control and hit a cycle and pedestrians, according to police. 

The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Chaudhary, Armed Police Force constable, and Amar Tangnami, a local resident, according to Inspector Deepak Babu KC of Area Police Office, Pipra. “Sagar Pandey, Raju Chaudhary and Kul Bahadur Gharti are seriously injured in the accident.”

The injured are receiving treatment in Butwal. 

According to Buddhi Prasad Pandey, an eyewitness, the APF truck (Na 1 Ga 554) lost its control and hit cyclists and pedestrians.

Likewise, three APF constables–Govind Subedi, Janak Chaudhary and Prem Malla–injured in the incident are referred to Butwal for further treatment.

According to the Pipra Area Police Office, they are investigating the case.
