Nepali Congress unveils manifesto; major focus on economic growth

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress has unveiled its 50-page manifesto for the upcoming federal and provincial elections slated for November 20.

In the manifesto, the Nepali Congress said that it would create 250,000 jobs every year. The party, in its manifesto, has promised to create 1.2 million jobs in the next five years.

The manifesto was unveiled by Sher Bahadur Deuba, president of the Nepali Congress.

According to the government, Nepal’s unemployment rate stands at 11.4 percent. And the unemployment rate is highest among young people aged 15-24 and 25-34 years. 

It is estimated that almost 500,000 youths enter the job market every year in Nepal. And the majority of these youths migrate to foreign countries in search of better opportunities.

The slogan of the manifesto is “Protection of the Constitution, Stability and the Firm Foundation for Development: The next government under the leadership of the Nepali Congress”.
