In yet another attack, leopard kills eight-year-old in Tanahu

This is the second incident of a leopard attack in less than 15 days in Tanahu district.

Tanahun: In yet another incident of leopard attack, an eight-year-old boy died in Tanahun district on Tuesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Abhinam Kunwar, son of Jagdish Kunwar, a resident of Byas Municipality-12.

The police said that the child was dragged away by the leopard while he was next to the cowshed, where his grandmother was milking the cow. 

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police of Tanahun, Yuvraj Khadka, a team including police and forest personnel reached the spot where the leopard left the body. 


This is the second incident of leopard attack in less than 15 days in Tanahu district. On October 21, an 11-year-old boy was killed in an accidental encounter with a leopard at Bandipur Rural Municipality-3.

In June, a five-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack in Bandipur-1, while two were injured at Bandipur-4.

According to the Division Forest Office Tanahun, more than a dozen children have died due to the leopard attack in Tanahun.
