Baglung: Lil Bahadur Thapa, a social worker in Baglung district, has constructed a house in his own expenses for a Dalit family at Badigad Rural Municipality-6.

The family, with extremely poor financial status, was residing in a local cave. Thapa constructed a house for the Damai couple on the land that Thapa purchased for that purpose.

Thapa has already handed over the newly-built house to the Damai couple. Speaking during the program, Gandaki Thapa, chair of Badigad Municipality, said that Thapa’s initiative is exemplary. “I have not seen anything like this before.”

The poor financial condition of the Damai couple was brought to light by GTV Nepal, a local television network in Baglung. Thapa has already helped dozens of poor people in the district.
