Kathmandu: The result of the second phase of the Korean language test for the production sector under the Employment Permit System (EPS) has been published.
Out of the total 18,043 candidates, 8,785 have passed the test. The tests were held from September 5 to November 7, said the EPS Korea section, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security.
A total of 18,595 applications had filled the application for the examination.
South Korea remains one of the preferred labor destinations for Nepali. Nepal and South Korea had signed a labor agreement in 2008.
Since the implementation of the Agreement, around 77 thousand Nepalis have reached South Korea for job opportunities.
Currently, 40,000 Nepalis are employed at different sectors in South Korea. Nepal is listed in the second place among the countries sending workers to South Korea while Cambodia holds the first position.
