Kathmandu: Dr Narayan Khadka from Nepali Congress, who is also the Foreign Minister, has won the House of Representatives election from Udayapur-1, defeating his rival Manju Kumari Chaudhary of CPN-UML with over 2000 votes.
Khadka secured 31,270 votes while Chaudhary got 28,891 votes.
Vote counting in the constituency had been halted after it was found that 100 votes cast for provincial assembly were in a ballot box for the first-past-the-post category of HoR.
