Two Chinese jailed on charge of trafficking Nepali nationals to Laos

The Chinese nationals took three Nepali nationals to Laos through India and Thailand, claiming they would get online, sales and marketing jobs in Laos.

Kathmandu: Two Chinese nationals have been sent to jail on the charge of human trafficking.

The Kathmandu District Court has sent Chen Yang, of Sichuan, China, and Ruan Chaohong, of Fujian, China, to judicial custody for further investigation on the charge of trafficking Nepali nationals to several countries.

Issuing a statement, the Anti Human Trafficking Bureau of the Nepal Police said that the Chinese nationals have been sent to the Kathmandu-based Central Jail. 

According to the Bureau, they [Chinese] took three Nepali nationals to Laos through India and Thailand, claiming they would get online, sales and marketing jobs in Laos.

The Chinese nationals also tortured the Nepali nationals in Laos, police said.
