Kathmandu: Embassy of China in Kathmandu has said that there has been no meeting between Charge de’affaires of the Chinese Embassy Wang Xin and top Nepali leaders. Issuing a clarification on Saturday, the embassy has said that Wang Xin did not meet with CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, Maoist Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda’ and Janata Samajbadi Party leader Upendra Yadav.

Some media outlets earlier reported the meeting between Wang and Nepali leaders. “The relevant news reports are false information,” the embassy has said in the statement issued by Zhang Si, Second Secretary at the office.

As the political parties are in the race to form the government, diplomats from India, the US and China appear to be meeting top leaders of major parties in recent time.

While the Indian ambassador and US ambassador are increasing their interactions with Nepali political leaders, there were reports in some media that the Chinese DCM also met with the Nepali leaders.
