Students clash with Khukuri and steel rods in Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus; seven injured

Kathmandu: A clash erupted in a student group over the next student union election at the Ratna Laxmi Campus in Kathmandu.

According to police, students affiliated with the All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) clashed inside the college premises over a dispute related to the election.

“They [students] used khukuri and other sharp weapons,” said SP Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Police. “The clash left at least seven injured.”

Those injured have been identified as Madan Bhandari, Lokesh Khadka, Harka Bohora, Rabi Magar, Ishwar Bista, among others. They are currently receiving treatment at Kathmandu Model Hospital.

Police have arrested a few student leaders involved in the clash.
