Kathmandu: With the goal of bringing together filmmakers from Nepal and America, the Nepal America Film Society is all set to organize another edition of the festival.

Nepal America International Film Festival (NAIFF) will take place in Maryland from Thursday, June 22 through Sunday, June 25, 2023, according to the organizer.

The Festival showcases all genres of films including feature lengths, documentaries, animations, experimental, and shorts from Nepal, South Asia, the USA, and all around the world.

As in previous years, films from the Global Peace Film Festival Florida will be screened in the Special Sidebar Section. Films from Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia will be featured in the special DMV Close-up Section.

“Opening up a little bit after the pandemic with the hybrid model last year, we are hopeful and excited to entertain the festival visitors with a fully in-person line of exhibitions and events this year,” stated Yubakar Rajkarnikar, Festival Director.

The previous edition of the NAIFF, which took place June 23-26, 2022, had featured industry panels, conversations with filmmakers, and networking events, said the organizer. The details of the 2023 event will be announced in the coming month.

NAIFF is an annual film festival organized by Nepal America Film Society Inc, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization based in Maryland. Since 2017, the Film Festival has built a unique reputation as an emerging platform for filmmakers with Nepali backgrounds along with American filmmakers and filmmakers from the international diaspora.
