Kathmandu: The Department of Passport has halted the process to distribute passports, citing the technical fault in the system.

The department, issuing a notice on Monday, said the passport status check process has also been halted until further notice. It also urged the service seekers not to visit the department until the next notice is released.

“The department is working to resolve the issue, and it will take some time for the system to get functional,” said Durpada Sapkota, spokesperson for the department.
