Kathmandu: A variety of cultural programs, including Gajal recitation and musical program, will be part of the celebrations titled ‘Gajal Dhamaka’ to mark the anniversary of the Bhutan Gajal Manch.

Bhutan Gajal Manch, an organization established some two decades ago, has announced the Gajal recitation program on 25 February in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania of USA.

Around 100 writers are expected to recite Nepali language Gajals in the event, the organizer said.

“The event is also expected to deliver a message that the connection of language goes beyond the geography,” said Netracharya Kaudin, chairperson of the Manch. “We want to contribute to our language and this program is expected to be an example to that end.”

The event required a lot of effort in terms of generating resources and managing people, Purna Narjali, vice chair of the Manch said. The Manch, however, is committed to promoting our language among all Nepali-speaking Bhutanese.
