Prachanda meets Nepal seeking vote of confidence

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” met with Madhav Kumar Nepal, the chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist), and Upendra Yadav, the chairperson of the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, at the Office of the Maoist Centre Parliamentary Party in Singha Durbar on Friday. 

The meeting focused on Dahal’s plan to seek a vote of confidence from the parties and their participation in the current government, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat. 

Dahal, who is also the chairperson of the Maoist Centre, asked Nepal and Yadav to support his continuation as prime minister by giving him a vote of confidence. 

Dahal, who was elected prime minister on December 25 with the support of 169 parliamentarians, is all set for a floor test on Tuesday, as required by Article 76 (4) of the Constitution.
