Kathmandu: The Tanahu district court on Tuesday gave a clean chit to actor Paul Shal, who was in jail, on the charge of raping a minor.

A single bench of judge Komal Prasad Acharya gave clean chit to Shah, while raising the legal grounds of the case.

On September 7, 2022, the Nawalpur district court had ordered Shah to serve two and a half years in jail and  pay Rs one million to the victim as compensation.

Following the decision, actor Shah had filed an appeal against the decision at the Pokhara High Court demanding the revision of the decision.
