Kathmandu: Nepali Congress has got the status of main opposition of the House of Representatives.

Issuing a notice on Monday, the Parliament Secretariat said that the Nepali Congress has got the status of main opposition of the lower house. Earlier, the party, which has a strength of 89 seats in the lower house, gave a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Dahal.

Earlier, the Nepal Workers and Peasants’ Party (NWPP) demanded that it be granted the status of the main opposition party in the House of Representatives, the lower house of the Federal Parliament, as per the existing laws.
