Kathmandu: The Supreme Court on Monday has lifted travel ban imposed on rape-accused cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane.

A division bench of justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Kumar Chudal made the decision in favor of Lamichhane, allowing him to travel to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the ICC Men’s World Cup League Division 2.

Earlier, the Patan High Court had barred him from traveling abroad.

On September 6 last year, a minor filed a complaint against Lamichhane at the Metropolitan Police Circle Gaushala, Kathmandu.
