Kathmandu: The Rastriya Swatantra Party on Monday decided to continue its support to the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government.

A central committee meeting of the party made the decision to that effect. The party, however, is yet to decide on who to support in the presidential election.

After CPN (Maoist Center) decided to support the candidate of the Nepali Congress in the presidential election, two parties–Rastriya Prajatantra Party and CPN (UML)–withdrew their support to the government.

A total of eight parties have decided to support the Nepali Congress candidate Ram Chandra Paudel in the presidential election. The CPN (UML) has also filed the candidacy of Subhash Nembang for the election.
