Biratnagar: A proposal to name Province 1 as Koshi has been registered in the provincial assembly. It was proposed by UML lawmakers Ram Bahadur Rana Magar and Niran Rai, and seconded by Nepali Congress lawmaker Bhumi Prasad Rajbansi.
Likewise, the CPN (Maoist Center), another ruling party, is also supporting the proposal put forward by Nepali Congress and CPN (UML).
In the meantime, the CPN (Unified Socialist) and Janta Samajwadi Party have put forward another proposal to name the province as Limbuwan Sagarmatha.
