Japan to continue its support for Nepal’s social and economic development

Kathmandu:  Japanese ambassador to Nepal Kikuta Yutaka has said that as a good of Nepal, Japan will continue to support Nepal in its social and economic development process.  Japanese ambassador was addressing the 49th annual function of JICA Alumni Association of Nepal (JAAN) in the capital on Saturday.

The ambassador said that Japan has been providing support to Nepal for a long time on areas including agriculture, health, education, infrastructure development, good governance, peace, and post-earthquake reconstruction. In the program the ambassador also recalled the support and good will provided to Nepal by JAAN during Fukushima earthquake of 2011. JAAN had provided support to the survivors of the earthquake at that time.

In the program Akimitsu Okubo, the chief of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Nepal office, said that Japan has been providing assistance to Nepal in its Human Resource Development adding that it will continue to do so in the days to come as well.

Dr Ram Chandra Bhusal, President of JAAN, expressed gratitude to Japan for its support to Nepal during the 2015 earthquakes and the Covid-19 pandemic adding that such support will help strengthen the relations between the two countries.
