Nepal hammers Papua New Guinea by nine wickets

Kathmandu: Nepal defeated Papua New Guinea by nine wickets in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League Division 2 on Monday at Kirtipur in Kathmandu.

After winning the toss and inviting PNG to bat first, Sandeep Lamichhane’s five-wicket haul restricted the visitors to just 95 runs. Only four batsmen for PNG managed to reach double-digit figures. Nepal then chased the target in a quick time, with opener Aasif Sheikh smashing 53 runs off 21 balls, including eight fours and three sixes. 

The other opener, Kushal Bhurtel, also contributed with 33 runs off 14 balls, including four fours and two sixes.
