Kathmandu: The government on Friday released the data of the 12 National census. The Central Bureau of Statistics had conducted the census in November, 2021.
Amid a program organized in Kathmandu, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ released the final report of the census.

Total Population: 29,164,578 | Male population: 14,253,551 (41.98 percent), Female population: 14911027 (51.02 percent) | Sex ratio: 95.59 males per 100 females
Sexual and gender minorities: 2,928 which is 0.01 percent of the total population
Average annual population growth rate: 0.92 percent | Highest of 3.35 in Bhaktapur district, and lowest of 1.67 percent in Ramechhap district
Population density: 198 per square kilometer | Terai has population density of 460 per km square, and mountainous region has 34 per km square | Kathmandu has highest population density of 5169 per km square, and Manang has lowest population density of 3 per km square
Population by broad age group: 61.96 percent population are between the age 15 to 59 years | 27.83 percent population are under 14 years of age | 10.21 percent population are above 60 years of age
Number of households: 5,427,302 number of households
Average household size: 4.37 person per household
District with highest and lowest population: Kathmandu has highest population of 2,041,587 and Manang has lowest population of 5,658
