Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress has decided to support the Janata Samajbadi Party in Bara-2 for the upcoming by-elections scheduled for April 23.

A central work execution committee meeting held on Sunday made the decision.

The Janta Samajbadi Party is preparing to field its Chairman Upendra Yadav in the constituency. Yadav earlier had lost in the elections held in November from Saptari-2 with a huge margin to the Janamat Party chair CK Raut.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party has picked former Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police Ramesh Kharel as its candidate for the upcoming by-elections, while the UML is yet to announce its candidate.
