Swarnim Wagle files candidacy from Tanahun-1

Kathmandu: Swarnim Wagle, a noted economist, on Monday filed his candidacy from Tanahun-1 for the by-election, scheduled for April 23. 

The candidacy of Wagle was proposed by Bishwa Bastola and seconded by Dr Rupak Ghimire.

Wagle, who quit Nepali Congress a few days ago, joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

Likewise, Govinda Bhattarai of Nepali Congress and former Inspector General of Nepal Police Sarbendra Khanal also filed their nominations for the by-polls. The seat in Tanahun became vacant after Ram Chandra Paudel was elected the President.
