Irish climber Noel Hanna dies on Mt Annapurna, one missing

Two Indian climbers who were missing since Monday night on Mt Annapurna have been rescued by Nepali rescuers, but a search is still ongoing for the third missing Indian climber.

Kathmandu: Noel Hanna, an Irish climber, passed away on Monday night at Camp IV on Mt Annapurna in the Myagdi district. 

Yubraj Khatiwada, director of the Department of Tourism, confirmed that Hanna’s body was found at Camp IV. Two Indian climbers who were missing since Monday night on Mt Annapurna have been rescued by Nepali rescuers, but a search is still ongoing for the third missing Indian climber. 

Baljeet Kaur, a record-holding Indian woman climber who had gone missing near Camp IV while descending from the summit point, has been rescued and is being flown to Kathmandu for medical examination. 

The search is ongoing for another missing Indian climber, according to the Department.
