13-year-old boy dies of burn injuries in Gulmi

Gulmi: A 13-year-old boy named Dipak Mukhiya died due to burn injuries sustained while working to extinguish a forest fire in his village, Dhurkot Rural Municipality-3, Gulmi. He was receiving treatment at Mission Hospital in Palpa district, but passed away this morning. 

The incident occurred last night, and Mukhiya was working alongside his family members to control the fire at Bardabas forest. Another individual named Dhan Bahadur Jogi Kunwar, aged 55, also sustained serious burn injuries and was sent to Butwal from Palpa for further treatment. 

In another incident, a fire occurred at Isma Rural Municipality in Gulmi district on Thursday, which destroyed two houses and three cowsheds belonging to Shivalal Kumal and Rudra Bahadur Kumal of Damar village. The fire broke out in a nearby community forest, and the district has recorded several cases of bushfire in recent days due to the dry season. The District Police Office in Gulmi reported on the incident.
