Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has given a 15-day deadline to the relevant bodies for the removal of haphazardly placed electric, telephone, and internet wires along the streets.

In a press statement issued today, the local government highlighted that disorganized cables negatively impact the town’s beauty, hinder public movement, and pose a fire risk.

The KMC expressed sensitivity towards potential hazards from unorganized cables and has previously held discussions with electricity, telephone, internet, and cable service providers regarding their removal. However, the problem persists.

The local government has warned that if the order is not implemented within the given timeframe, it will take action to remove the cables.
