Former Home Minister Khand and 11 others remanded in custody for four days

The Kathmandu District Attorney Office has also directed the Nepal Police to complete the investigation within four days

Kathmandu: The Kathmandu District Court has remanded 12 persons, including former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, into custody for four days for further investigation into their alleged involvement in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.

The Kathmandu District Attorney Office has also directed the Nepal Police to complete the investigation within four days, and submit the report, confirmed Achyut Mani Neupane, chief of the Kathmandu Attorney Office.

All the arrested, including the high-ranking bureaucrats and politicians, are accused 

of collecting a huge sum of money from various individuals promising to send them to the United States as Bhutanese refugees.
