Photo feature: Nepal Student Union protests against corruption

Kathmandu: The Nepal Student Union, the student wing of the ruling Nepali Congress, organized a protest in Kathmandu demanding action against those involved in a fake refugee scandal on Sunday. 

The students carried placards with anti-corruption slogans and some even portrayed themselves as handcuffed inmates during the demonstration. 

So far, police have arrested 12 people, including a former home minister and a former home secretary, in connection with the scam, where individuals were tricked into giving millions of rupees in exchange for being sent to the United States as Bhutanese refugees.
