Two girls drown in Rapti River

Khajura: Two girls lost their lives after drowning in the Rapti River in Banke. The incident occurred at Duduwa Rural Municipality-4 on Tuesday evening, when a group of six individuals, including the girls, had gathered for a picnic near the Sidhaniyaghat river.

The deceased have been identified as Sharad Chaudhari, a 29-year-old resident of Kohalpur Municipality-2, and Sarita Chaudhary, a 25-year-old resident of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis-12, Koreanpur. 

According to DSP Ram Prasad Gharti Magar, the spokesperson of the District Police Office in Banke, both individuals lost their lives while swimming in the river. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident, which is currently ongoing.
