Four die in Rukum jeep accident

Kathmandu: Four people died in a jeep accident in Banphikot Rural Municipality-8 of the West Rukum district on Thursday. 

According to Nam Raj Bhattarai, Chief of the District Police Office, the vehicle, carrying 14 people, was traveling from Gheudhunga in Sanibheri Rural Municipality-3 towards Musikot when the accident occurred. Ten others sustained injuries, with four of them in critical condition. 

The deceased have been identified as Karne Batha, Deuchan Khatri, Rekha Khatri, and Rekha’s infant son. 

Efforts are being made to airlift the seriously injured individuals for treatment, said police. Police personnel are performing rescue operations at the accident site, and a thorough investigation into the incident is currently underway.
