Kathmandu: The death toll in the Rukum jeep accident has reached five.
An ill-fated jeep with 14 people met with an accident at Banphikot Rural Municipality-8 of the West Rukum district on Thursday.
According to Nam Raj Bhattarai, Chief of the District Police Office, the vehicle was traveling from Gheudhunga in Sanibheri Rural Municipality-3 towards Musikot when the accident occurred. Nine others sustained injuries, with three of them in critical condition.
The deceased have been identified as Karne Batha, Deuchan Khatri, Rekha Khatri, and Rekha’s infant son. The identity of another deceased is yet to be ascertained.
