Death toll from Palpa jeep accident reaches four

Rampur: The death toll in a jeep accident in Rainadevi Chahara Rural Municipality-8, Palpa district, has risen to four, according to police. Among the 11 individuals injured in the accident, five are in critical condition.

The victims have been identified as Ramesh BK, a 26-year-old jeep driver from Padini Rural Municipality-1 in Argakhanchi district, Shyamkala Pariyar, aged 55, from Padini-1, and Sita Gautam, aged 25, and Sanyog Gautam, aged 2, from Padini-2. While Sanjog succumbed to his injuries during treatment, others lost their lives at the incident site.

The ill-fated jeep, with the registration number Lu 1 Cha 9024, was en route from Saljhandi to Arghakhanchi when it veered off the road, plummeting 70 meters.

Police said that five of the injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal, two at Chauraha Hospital in Butwal, and four at Bhairahawa Medical College.
