Kathmandu: The Nepal Medical College, located in Jorpati, has temporarily suspended its OPD (Outpatient Department) service due to an incident of vandalism by the relatives of patients.

In an official notice released on Wednesday, the hospital administration stated that all services, except for emergencies, will remain closed until action is taken against those involved in the act of vandalism. They emphasized that the hospital will not resume operations until the safety and security of doctors and the facility are assured.

The incident occurred after the family members of 71-year-old Subarna Kumar Dhital, who passed away during treatment, accused the hospital administration of not keeping them informed about the worsening condition of the patient.

Nepal Medical Association has also demanded the government take prompt action against those involved in vandalism of the hospital.
