Gorkha: Five individuals lost their lives, while twelve others sustained injuries in a tragic road accident that occurred last midnight in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality in Gorkha.
The jeep with registration number 01-023 Cha 4427 was transporting a newly-wedded couple and other participants from Chilingkot village to Taklung village within the rural municipality.
Dinesh Sagar Bhusal, the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Gorkha, confirmed the incident. He said that four men and one woman lost their lives when the jeep veered off the road and fell approximately 200 meters.
The rescue operations are underway at the accident site, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Leelaraj Lamichhane and his team of police personnel.
