Nepal reach final of ACC East Zone U16 Cup Cricket

In a match played at the Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground in Malaysia, Singapore, chasing a target of 185 runs was all out for just 87 runs.

Kathmandu: Nepal defeated Singapore by 97 runs to secure their spot in the final of the ACC East Zone U16 Cup Cricket. 

In a match played at the Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground in Malaysia, Singapore, chasing a target of 185 runs, fell short as the Nepalese bowlers dominated the match. Singapore was all out for 87 runs in 31.3 overs. 

Nepal’s spinner Karthik Kamat took three wickets, leading the bowling attack. Earlier, Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a total of 184 runs in the allotted 35 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Opening batsmen Suryansh Koirala and Niraj Kumar Yadav provided a solid start, contributing 63 runs for the first wicket. 

Koirala scored 43 runs, while Yadav got dismissed after scoring 42 runs, playing a crucial role in Nepal’s innings. Captain Abhishek Tiwari contributed 25 runs before getting out. 

With this victory, Nepal is now set to face the home team, Malaysia, in the final on Tuesday. Malaysia confirmed their spot in the final by defeating Hong Kong in the other semifinal.
