‘Banking Discipline for Sustainable Development’ launched

Kathmandu: A book titled ‘Banking Discipline for Sustainable Development’ has been released on Sunday. The book was launched by former Nepal Rastra Bank governor Dr Chiranjivi Nepal amid a function in Kathmandu.

The book authored by BN Gharti sheds light on various dimensions of the banking sector and aims to provide valuable insights into bank-related policies, banking literacy, awareness, and essential information about the banking and financial sectors. 

Gharti, who has a long experience of working in the banking sector, hopes the book will serve as a useful resource material for anyone wishing to understand the intricacies of the banking industry. 

The writer, who dedicated around three decades of his career to the banking sector, shared his professional experiences and insights with the public through the book. 

He talks about the merits and demerits of the culture of target setting in the banking sector, competitive culture there and so on through his writing. Necessity of finance companies and development banks, advantages and flip sides of microfinance, banking malpractices, the role of Rastra Bank in policy provisions and others are mentioned in the book. 

Speaking during the launch Dr Chiranjibi Nepal said Gharti was that personality who started his banking career at an assistant level and reached to the leadership level. He hoped the book by an experienced banking employee would serve a guideline in the related field.

The 444-page book is published by the Banking and Insurance Management Pvt Ltd.
