Baitadi: A landslide that occurred at Purchaudi Municipality-2 in Baitadi district killed a mother and her son on Monday morning.
According to police, the landslide swept away the house, killing Anju Jagari, 24, and her four-year-old son Rijan. The landslide also left three people–Jasma Bohora, 60, Raimati Jagri,45, and Gobbar Jagri, 18–injured.
“The deceased were sleeping when the landslide swept away their house. The landslide occurred in the wee hours of Monday,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police Prem Bahadur Shahi, chief of the Baitadi District Police Office.
According to police, the landslide also killed some livestock in the area.
